
Meet the FOSCL Board Members

PRESIDENT
Norbert Kraich
Norbert serves as chair of the FOSCL Buildings & Grounds Committee, and is also on the Bethany Beach Board of Elections. He and his wife have been year-round Bethany residents since 2010 and area homeowners since 1994. A native Washingtonian, Norbert holds a Graduate Certificate in Communications from The American University. Prior to retiring in 2008, Norbert headed his own Washington, DC firm providing services and counsel to professional associations, corporations and coalitions in association management, meeting planning, membership development, event planning and program coordination.

TREASURER
Anthony Parisi, Jr.
A retired 40-year credit executive managing operating budgets up to $25 million, Tony has particular expertise in risk management, product development, compliance, marketing, sales, underwriting, loss mitigation, workouts, and staff management in banking and consumer finance environments.

RECORDING SECRETARY
Helen N. Pastis
Helen received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nuclear Engineering from Columbia University. She worked at Brookhaven National Laboratories in research and at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission overseeing the safe operation of nuclear power plants. She is the Recording Secretary, Chairs the Publicity Committee, and is Editor of the quarterly FOSCL newsletter, The Connection.

BOARD MEMBER
Barb Calkins
Chair of the Nominations Committee, Barb also serves on Bylaws & Publicity. Barb and her husband Chris live in old town Ocean View in a 1800s farmhouse they have been rehabbing since 1992. With Masters degrees in Social Work and Public Policy, her 35-year career has included federal policy advocacy, non-profit executive management, & community, hospital & individual clinical social work.

BOARD MEMBER
Dick Oliver
A 6-year Board veteran, Dick also serves on the South Bethany Town Council where he was Planning Commission Chair for 7 years. He and his wife Margaret, here since 1974, have been full-time residents since 2012. A proud native Washingtonian, Dick served in the United States Marine Corps, graduated from American University, and was a 32-year federal employee. He retired in 1998 as training director.

BOARD MEMBER
Kathy Green
Kathy serves as the Chair of the Beach and Bay Cottage Tour, FOSCL’s largest annual fundraising event. After a long career in fundraising, she retired as the Director of Development and Communication from a PA school for children with learning disabilities. Kathy is very active in the local non-profit community and is a co-founder of Seaquels. In 2009, Bethany became the permanent home of Kathy, husband David and dog, Scarlet.

Constance M. Dierman
Connie recently retired as a senior U.S. diplomat, having served our country abroad and in Washington, DC. She continues to serve as a global talent management senior advisor for the U.S. Department of State. Throughout her career she has focused on program development and direction, institution building, inclusivity, and the professional growth of others. She is committed to public service and contributing to the wellness of our South Coastal community. Connie and her husband make their home in Bethany Beach.

BOARD MEMBER
Kathy serves on the Board for her community in Ocean View and volunteers for Delaware Womenade, an organization that supports women’s shelters in Kent and Sussex Counties. She is a native Delawarean and previous mayor of South Bethany. She formerly taught at the high school and university levels and was a global program manager at the DuPont Company where she was employed for 29 years.

BOARD MEMBER
Lawrence Mayer
Lawrence serves on the Lord Baltimore Elementary School Partnership and Book Sale Committees. With 48 years of public school service, he was both a high school teacher and administrator, and taught US History and Education at Columbia University, Mercy College and the College of New Rochelle. For three years he was a guest columnist for Coastal Point. He and his wife Barbara moved to Ocean View in 2008.

Cindy Hutson

BOARD MEMBER
Gale Poudrier
For the past three years Gale has served as a tour house guide for the Beach & Bay Cottage Tour, and currently serves on the Publicity Committee. She volunteers at Freeman Stage and has served in leadership positions within her residential communities. Gale, her husband and dog relocated full-time to Bethany Beach in 2018.

Pamela Richman
Pam is Co-Chair of the annual book sale this year and will assume the Chairmanship next year. Her professional career began as an elementary school teacher, and she retired from the Fairfax County Library system in Virginia after 24 years as a circulation manager.

BOARD MEMBER
John A Rubinsohn
John has been a full time resident of the South Coastal area for 20 years. During this time he was a South Bethany Town Councilman, served on the board of his HOA, and volunteered for many local non profits. He is on the FOSCL Finance Committee. Prior to moving to the area he managed university medical departments.

BOARD MEMBER
Lisa Saxton
I am a caring, teaching professional, employed through the Indian River School District as a Special Education Para Educator. In my many years of working with special needs children I have enjoyed guiding the growth and progress of the students at an early age, thus enabling them to realize their greater potential. As a full-time resident of South Bethany I am interested in becoming more involved with my community. I was a hostess for the Beach and Bay Cottage Tours for four years and worked at several Summer Book Sales.
